Story

Hi everyone!

On the 6th July 2024, myself and my best friend Megan will be walking 10 miles through Bakewell for the Peak District Ultra Challenge to fundraise for Mind, a charity close to our hearts.

I have struggled with my mental health for years, with my biggest battle being after I lost my amazing Dad to covid in February 2021. Eventually, trying to 'get on with life' got too much, and I just didn't believe life was worth living anymore, I just wanted to be with my Dad again.

I struggled with symptoms of PTSD and had a terrible medical phobia which became even worse and took over my life, giving me awful health anxiety. I realised I couldn't carry on, and I had a choice to make: either get help or give up.

3 years on from losing my Dad, I have finished my sessions of CBT and conquered my medical phobia, working as a support worker in hospitals where I am privileged to look after people in their most vulnerable moments, and I will be starting my masters in Mental Health Nursing next year.

Therapy saved my life, and it’s thanks to charities such as Mind that people can access the support they need. If you could possibly spare some pennies to help me fundraise for them this summer I would be so grateful! But likewise a like or a share would be amazing too! They are an amazing charity, true angels, and deserve every ounce of support xxx
