On the 9th June I will be running the Woodhall Spa 10k and will be raising money towards Grimsby Neonatal Unit in Aubrey’s name. Aubrey was born premature at 26 weeks 5 days weighing just 2 and a half pounds.

Brodie and Aubrey were transferred from Hull to Grimsby hospital when Aubrey was 13 days old and Aubrey spent 71 days in NICU care. Brodie has said “that the work and daily care from all the NICU nurses and doctors in Grimsby was incredible. They work so hard not just for the baby but also for the parents, they are basically trained therapists. Never too busy to comfort you was a parent and explain anything you ask.”

After lots of ups and downs and tough fight Brodie and Sam got to take Aubrey home on 30th June weighing 4lb 10.

Brodie says “We are so grateful to Grimsby NICU it means such a great deal to us.”

As an added challenge, as running 10k might seem too easy to hand over your cash I will be running a minimum of 2 miles a day for the 13 weeks and 2 days prior to the 10k which is how premature Aubrey was.
