Samworth Brothers Charity Challenge, 18 May 2024 · 10 May 2024

We support families & staff on the Neonatal Unit at Kings Mill and SCBU at Bassetlaw Hospital, through the provision of Welcome Packs, bus tokens, meal vouchers, sibling bags and in many other practical ways for families. We also fund additional staff training where this is not provided by the NHS.

Story

On 18th May 2024 Daz, Luke, Danelle, Jess and Sean will be taking part in the Samworth Brothers Charity Challenge, a monstrous nine hour endurance event in Ambleside, Lake District. The exhilarating adventure race is cross discipline and takes in cycling, running and kayaking across the various peaks and crags in a truly one off event.

We have chosen to sponsor a local charity for reasons close to our heart.

The Emily Harris Foundation located at the King's Mill Hospital in Mansfield raises money for the Neonatal Unit at King's Mill Hospital in memory of Emily Harris. Emily was born six weeks premature on 5th September 2006 and sadly passed away in her mothers arms on 1st February 2007. The Charity was founded by Emily's mother Clare shortly afterwards.

With your donations The Emily Harris Foundation can help provide both parents and babies with essential items such as nappies, bibs, blankets, cotton wool balls, as well as food and bus vouchers as well as staff training and counselling.

All donations will go directly to help the lives parents and young children in crisis.
