THE LINZEY SMITH CHALLENGE 2023 14th-16th JULY 2023  (BALLS TO CANCER WEEKEND!)

Linzey Smith was at the heart of our community and after a 2 year battle, sadly lost her determined fight with cancer at the all too young age of 42. Linzey was a much loved daughter and sister. Also an extremely loving mother too her three young sons Noah, Seth and Eric, and a loving wife to her soulmate and husband John. She also had a really tough side to her, which shone through in her battle with cancer, never backing down or giving up.In this determined sprit we have come up with a challenge, which at some point will take everybody out of their comfort zone and raise some much needed funds in her memory for the Rosemere Cancer Foundation.

We invite anybody to participate, what ever your ability, you can enter one, two or all three events in any combination over the weekend.

Event 1: Friday evening 14/07/2023- 1 hour  swim. This will be more about participation than distance. Venue TBC.

Event 2: Yorkshire Three Peaks 15/07/2023- Iconic walk from Horton in Ribbledale over the three peaks of Pen-y-Ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough returning to Horton after the 26 mile route. A support team will be at a number of positions along the route for help if required.

Event 3: 101 mile Bike ride 16/07/2023 - starting and finishing at the Royal Arms, Tockholes, setting off towards Ribchester, on to Scorton, then along the North West Riviera (Blackpool) retuning to Tockholes via Preston and Abbey Village. Support vans and mechanics will be on the route.

Please share far and wide with family and friends to raise money for this great cause, no matter how big or small the donation. This is a very tough challenge, however it’s a personal challenge and about pushing your goals and expectations, in the same way Linzey did every day.
