Story
The Urban Partnership Group (UPG) does absolutely amazing work in the local West London community of Hammersmith & Fulham and the surrounding areas. Their activities include running children’s centres, family outreach provision, borough-wide parenting classes, nursery provision and crèche services, sports and leisure facilities, an older people service, volunteering, adult education classes, employment support service, art and pottery workshops, as well as managing space for the wider community to use. UPG see approximately 1,200 people a week.
Furthermore, this is all whilst being impacted by Covid and the cost of living crisis.
Your Donation
Your donation will go towards supporting UPG and in particular the work they do to support the elderly, the frail, or housebound who are at risk of isolation due to mobility or other health-related issues like dementia/Alzheimers.
The Masbro Elders Project is for anyone living in Hammersmith and Fulham over 55 years of age. The weekly Tea Club offers seniors the chance to get involved in a varied programme of activities, creative courses, events and outings. The Elders Project also offers a Befriending Service, a vital lifeline for members to connect and form friendships to help reduce isolation.
Giving Back
UPG offers a lifeline to so many in the local community, especially the Elders Project. I’ve seen firsthand the difference they make as my elderly parents were able to access the services during a time of crisis, and benefitted hugely. Local services need vital funds more than ever, so running the London Marathon and raising money for UPG is the least I could do to give back for all that it's done for me and my community.
When we give cheerfully and accept gratefully, everyone is blessed (Maya Angelou)
