Story

Here we are again! One of my two annual fundraisers I do for Second Chance Pet Adoptions. This year my ask is geared toward two very specials boys in my world! IAN and PANDA!

Ian is still a Second Chance kitty on record but has lived with me for almost 2 years! The little man is so special to me and will most likely live with me forever. He has herpes virus which is a very normal and wide spread disease in kitties. On top of that he has chronic rhinitis (wicked inflammation in his sinus area always causing stuffiness and colds) and eosinophilic keratitis which is basically a chronic inflammatory disease of the cornea. Poor little man always has drippy eyes and an upper respiratory (cold). He was seen at NC State Vet last month so we could get to the bottom of his issues and know how to treat them. That visit was VERY expensive and we are still waiting for some results to know how best to treat him. We do know he is on eye ointment daily for the rest of his life that is $79 for a little tube! Most likely he will need an anti viral or at the very least antibiotics every few months to keep him comfortable. Little man is worth every single penny spent on him <3

My other reason for this ask is my Panda Bear! For those of you that follow me on facebook (BEST kittens and Billy Bear), you already have heard of this little guy. He came into SC in June with terrible eye infections at only 5-6 weeks old. We treated them with our vet as best we could but knew that it wasn't a very good outlook. After numerous vet visits the outcome was that we had to keep him comfortable until he was old enough for surgery to remove the eyes. Well, Panda didn't wait until that day, his eyeballs ruptured in July so he was rushed into emergency surgery. The little man recovered so well and I swear he can see. I adopted him last month (couldn't part with the little guy!) but he left behind a trail of bills for medicine and surgery and his many vet visits.

Because of Second Chance I have 2 very special babies in my life right now, I had a tough year with some medical issues and these 2 really helped me stay sane and keep going every day. I have heard the same kind of sentiment from adopters who are so thankful for the little buggers we brought to their world. So this year I am asking for your help to place animals like Ian and Panda in their forever homes and continue bringing happiness and smiles to our community <3

Love, Lisa
