The Red Nose Day great stitch up 2026

This Red Nose Day it's time to Take Yourself Funny for Money on Friday 20 March. Whatever you do to get a laugh, the money you raise will do serious good for serious reasons, across the UK and around the world.

Story

Red Nose Day Stitch‑Up!

Roll up your yarn balls and get ready to stitch for a great cause!

Here at Comic Relief HQ we have called upon our great knitting army to rise the great red nose stich up challenge for Red nose day 2026. We'll be taking ourselves funny for money and leaving ourselves in stitches. (and coming up with as many knitting puns as we can in the process!)

Our challenge is to knit or crochet as many red squares as possible and stitch it all up to create one giant red nose day blanket to be raffled as a prize on Red Nose day.

Here’s how to get tangled up in the fun:

£1 minimum donation to join the challenge

Use Double Knitting yarn (any shade of red)

Create a 20cm x 20cm square

Make as many squares as you like!

Any stitch style is welcome — natty knitting or cosy crochet.

All squares to be at Comic Relief HQ by 6th March in time for our great stich up team to create the blanket ready for raffle.

Round up your friends and family to get knitting too.

You can follow our progress in the photo gallery below. Its been so lovely to see so many people get involved so far. Keep those squares coming team!

Comic Relief supports incredible projects and organisations that are making a difference for people across the UK and around the world.

Any donation you can make will make a difference. It could help provide shelter for those that need it, put food on plates, fill the shelves of baby banks, offer someone to talk to, or somewhere to be safe. It will go towards organisations supporting those facing poverty and injustice here in the UK and around the world.
