Story

On behalf of Seasalt Cornwall, (a corporate partner of the mental health charity Mind), I am honoured to have secured a place with 'Team Mind' in the London Marathon 2026 - a personal challenge that has been on my fitness bucket list since I fell in love with sport over 4 decades ago!

I am a personal fitness trainer and I specialise in working with menopausal women, encouraging them to look after their health and well-being, coaching them with strength training, cardiovascular exercise and helping them adopt a more healthy lifestyle as they approach their menopausal years and beyond.

Running and fundraising for 'Mind' resonates with me entirely, (being a 58 year old menopause woman myself), and after having worked closely with menopause specialists over the last few years. Prioritising mental health during menopause not only eases the transition but also promotes long-term health, happiness, and quality of life.

Good mental health is especially important during menopause because this stage of life brings significant physical, hormonal, and emotional changes that can deeply affect a woman’s overall well-being. Fluctuating hormone levels can lead to mood swings, anxiety, irritability or feelings of sadness, making it crucial to maintain strong emotional resilience and coping strategies. Supporting mental health helps women navigate these changes with confidence, maintain positive relationships and continue to enjoy daily activities and work life. It also supports better sleep, concentration, and self-esteem - factors that can otherwise be challenged during menopause.

This is going to be a massive challenge for me so please support me, and my buddy, Sarah Ball, Menopause Specialist, who will be running with me every step of the way.

Thank you!
