I am raising money for Ataxia UK by running the Great North Run in September.

My son Tyler suffers with Friedreich’s Ataxia, the most common form of hereditary Ataxia. Friedreich’s Ataxia is a degenerative condition and affects around 1 in 50,000 people. It has other complications associated with the disease, including Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy and Scoliosis, both of which Tyler has.

Friedreich’s Ataxia is a cruel and debilitating condition. It’s taken away Tyler’s ability to walk, and his health will continue to decline.

Raising money for Ataxia UK will raise awareness, and hopefully someday we may find a cure for this cruel disease.
