Sue Ryder Starlight Hike Leeds

Sue Ryder Starlight Hike Leeds · 5 October 2024 ·
In July this year my sister and I spent 3 wonderful days with our Dad in Wheatfields Hospice.
As soon as we arrived our lives changed.
Dad was comfortable and pain free for the first time in over a year and we were once again his daughters, no longer responsible for his care. He was able to say what he wanted, his wishes respected and his concerns heard and explored. He was able to determine the way he wanted his last days to be.
We were cared for as a family, our needs recognised alongside Dads.
We are in awe, humbled and ever grateful that we had the privilege of such a life defining experience and precious measures to treasure.
I will be walking 10k alongside my Daughter Charlotte and her boyfriend Kweku in memory of Dad.
Please sponsor us if you are able to support this charity which means so much to us.
Thank you
Lisa, Charlotte & Kweku

In the time leading up toSue Ryder Starlight Hike is a series of 5k or 10k walks taking place in various locations around the country this October. They provide an opportunity to get together with family and friends under the stars to remember and celebrate the life of someone special and help ensure no one faces death or grief alone.
£20 could pay for a patient’s meals for the day in one of our hospices. We always do our best to cater for someone’s individual preferences and dietary requirements.
£25 could fund an hour of expert care, so our Sue Ryder doctors and nurses can help manage patients’ pain and symptoms.
£40 could provide our personalised text support service Sue Ryder Grief Coach to someone who is grieving for a year, as well as gentle coaching for friends and family who want to support them.
Charities pay a small fee for our service. Learn more about fees
