Lisa Griffiths is raising money for Head for Change

Pen y fan · 18 April 2026

Our goal is to create a safe space for our sporting heroes, past, present and future that suffer from sports-related brain injuries and connect with the best brains in science and research to make positive change.

Story

I have chosen this charity as it is close to my heart ♥️

As many close to me know, my husband lives with Traumatic Brain Injury (Brain Damage). With this he lives with complex, chronic, degenerative health conditions which affect the brain, endocrine system which affects organs and hormones. With this and more than likely related to his endocrine conditions, he now lives with an active pNET (cancerous tumour in his pancreas).

Even though some people are aware of this no one will truly understand how this affects us as a family, especially when he looks fit and well. No one sees the crashes, the emotions, the worries, frequent hospital visits, multiple Surgeries, challenges and having to educate

the medical Professionals (being Ryan) and still tries to smile and function for his family.

It is a degenerative condition that will only get worse with time and how much time, we just don’t know.

Head for change are a small charity that runs purely on donations.

They provide care and support to those living with neurodegenerative diseases caused by their sporting careers, raise public awareness about the risks of head injuries in sport, and support independent research to make sport safer.

Please support me to raise funds to help this charity continue the incredible work that they do.
