Story
Last year I turned 50, and I've discovered that after a certain age your knees snap, crackle and pop more than your breakfast cereal... so naturally, I thought learning to dance was the obvious next step! 😂
So, in a moment of madness (or midlife brilliance!), I've signed up to take part in the Liverpool Women's Strictly charity event in support of the Liverpool Women's NHS Foundation Trust.
Now, anyone who knows me knows my dancing is usually saved for a night out after a few drinks, so this is definitely taking me out of my comfort zone. Wish my dance partner luck... they'll probably need it more than I do!💃🕺
The Liverpool Women's Hospital has a very special place in my heart. I was fortunate enough to work there for several years, where I made some incredible friends and wonderful memories. It has also cared for members of my family, so I've seen first-hand the compassion, dedication and outstanding care the staff provide every single day.
This amazing hospital is at the heart of our community, and that's why I'm so proud to be raising money for such a fantastic cause.
This year, the money I raise will go towards Honeysuckle House, the dedicated bereavement facility at Liverpool Women's Hospital. Honeysuckle provides free support for families who experience pregnancy loss, stillbirth or neonatal death.
So, if you'd like to support me as I attempt to swap stiff joints for jazz hands, and prove that sequins can distract from questionable footwork, I'd be so grateful for your donation.
I'll be giving it my all... whether my hips agree with me is another story! 😂
And remember... turns out you can't buy rhythm... but you can sponsor it! ✨💃
Thank you so much for your support—it really does mean the world. ❤️
