Story
I'm fundraising for the Gloucestershire Wildlife Trust’s Nature Nurture Appeal, a transformative project that helps children struggling with emotional and mental health challenges rediscover joy, confidence, and connection through nature.
In a world where children are increasingly disconnected from the outdoors, Nature Nurture offers a lifeline. Through immersive weekly sessions in wild spaces across Gloucestershire—including Gloucester, Cheltenham, Tewkesbury, and the Forest of Dean—children engage in activities like:
✨ Nature art and journaling
🪵 Woodwork and den building
🔥 Campfires and cooking foraged nettle soup
🕊️ Mindfulness and wildlife games
🌱 Learning about sustainability and caring for the environment
These sessions create a safe, camp-style atmosphere where children can make friends, express themselves, and find peace in nature. The results have been truly inspiring—children who hadn’t smiled in months are laughing again, building friendships, and feeling hopeful.
This project is funded in part by the NHS through the Gloucestershire Local Nature Partnership, but it needs your support to reach more children and continue making a difference.
