Story
Two years ago, I completed a long-distance cycling challenge and said, “Never again”. I really meant it.
It was gruelling. The training took over my weekends, the ride pushed me to my limits, and somehow I had to fit it all around a demanding job and a busy life.
So naturally… here I am, signing up for another one.
This time, I’m fortunate to be riding alongside a fantastic peloton of 15 fellow cyclists, all taking on this challenge in support of Dreams Come True.
I’m doing this because I believe passionately in the work of the charity I have the privilege to lead.
In the UK today, far too many children are growing up in poverty. For children living with disabilities or life-limiting conditions, the challenges are even greater. They are more likely to experience poverty, isolation and disadvantage.
That is simply not acceptable.
At Dreams Come True, we create moments of joy, hope and magic for children facing some of the toughest circumstances imaginable. We help them experience things many of us take for granted: adventure, confidence, inclusion, happiness, and precious memories with the people they love.
The children we support inspire me every day. Their courage, resilience and determination put any challenge I face on a bike into perspective.
So when the training gets tough, the weather turns against me, or my legs start questioning my life choices, I’ll be thinking about them.
Every mile I ride and every pound raised will help Dreams Come True continue bringing life-changing experiences to children who need them most.
If you’re able to support me, I would be hugely grateful. Whatever you can give will make a genuine difference to the lives of deserving children and their families.
Thank you for helping me turn sore legs into smiles.
