Story

Emergency Appeal

Amy's House is a small local charity who provide vital service to children and young adults within Sheffield who have disabilities and complex needs.

Today 18th August 2023 our much loved minibus was stolen between 2:51am and 3:10am.

Our minibus is well used and is lifeline to families who rely on respite services to help share the caring needs of young people and adults from the age of 8 upward. Our minibus, which we saved hard for, helps with collection to and from day services and accessing our community. The minibus means that families with more than one child, or without the resources to provide transport, are able to come to our dedicated space.

The staff and trustees of Amy's House have worked incredibly hard to build the organisation to where it is today, including the facilities we have and the high standard of care we are able to offer. It’s taken lots of fundraising to buy our own vehicle to support our families.

It’s heartbreaking that this will impact our ability to care for our young people and we would like to ask for help in making sure that this impact is minimised as much as possible by replacing the vehicle as soon as possible.
