Story
Avon and Somerset Search and Rescue (ASSAR) is a team of highly trained volunteers who give up their time to help find and rescue vulnerable people, those who are lost, injured or missing in remote areas or complicated areas. They also support the emergency services during floods, extreme weather and major incidents. ASSAR receives no government funding and relies entirely on donations to keep this vital service running.
I will be completing the Offa's Dyke Walk, 285 km from North to South Wales. This walk will be a personal challenge. Ten years ago, a van crashed into my parked car, a life-changing moment where injuries were compounded by injuries sustained in a previous accident where I broke my back ten years prior. Recovery has been long and painful and an ever continuing process. However, this walk is a chance to celebrate the beauty of life and the power of companionship. Along the way I will be joined by a brilliant group of women whose encouragement I know will keep me going.
Please consider supporting ASSAR, every penny will makes a difference.
