My Mum used to say, "If they told you to jump off a bridge, would you?" Well, Mum, for CHAS, "Yes, I would!"

I have lost many cherished and deeply loved members of my close family to untimely and unexpected illness. The experience of bewilderment, anger, and pain that comes with diagnosis and bereavement stays with me always. I cannot begin to imagine facing that kind of heartbreak as a mother, or watching one of my children suffer through it.

That is why I am taking on the Forth Bridge Abseil 2026 on 4 October 2026 in support of Children's Hospices Across Scotland (CHAS). CHAS provides compassionate, vital care for families facing the unimaginable, and their work brings comfort, dignity, and support when it is needed most. This is an urgent need, and the services they offer must continue for every family who depends on them.
