Story
My name is Lisa Rhodes and I am reaching out to ask for your support as I take on a personal challenge to raise money for Breast Cancer Now, the UK’s leading breast cancer research and support charity. In August, I was diagnosed with triple negative grade 3 breast cancer. It’s an aggressive form, so I will be undergoing chemotherapy and surgery in the coming months. One of the side effects of treatment is losing my hair, I’ve decided that I want to lose it on my own terms by doing a “Brave the Shave” event and Wear Pinm. This is my way of showing strength in the face of cancer and helping fund life-changing research and care for everyone affected by breast cancer.
After the incredible success of my “Brave The Shave” event at The Shoulder of Mutton Pub on 9th August 2025, where I was overwhelmed to raise an amazing £3,637. I’ve been truly inspired to continue doing more to support this fantastic cause. The generosity and encouragement I received from friends, family, and the local community meant so much, and it’s motivated me to keep making a difference for everyone affected by breast cancer.
That’s why on Thursday 11th December, my colleagues at Duckworth Motor Group will be proudly taking part in “Christmas Jumper Day” in support of Breast Cancer Now. The day will be all about coming together to raise awareness, show solidarity, and collect much-needed funds to help the charity continue its life-changing research and support services.
Every donation will go directly towards helping Breast Cancer Now continue their incredible work, funding vital research, providing care and support
