Story

I am taking on the extreme challenge of trekking the Sahara Desert in support of St Ann’s Hospice! I will be flying to Marrakesh and meeting the team on the 12th November 2025 where we will travel a further 5 hours to the opening of the desert. I will be covering a distance of 48km/29 miles in the heat and against the elements, trekking roughly 7 hours a day and then camping in tents. On the last day of my trek I will climb to the top of the Chegaga Dunes to experience an amazing desert sunrise.

Sadly, our tight knit family was affected by cancer last year. My step dad David suffered immensely from the disease and unfortunately he passed away in November 2024 at age 64. St Ann’s hospice accommodated David and looked after him in his final weeks, not only that, they also supported my mum and our entire family. I seriously can not imagine what we would have done without the help of the hospice. They made David feel safe and comfortable and treated him with so much dignity.

I have decided to take on this challenge in loving memory of David and also to give back and raise as much funds for the hospice as possible to help other patients and families at the most difficult time when they need it.

I hope you will help me reach, or even better, exceed my fundraising goal! I am currently training doing local walks and challenging hikes mainly in the Peak District which I will share on my socials.

Thank you
