Lisa's fundraiser for Marie Curie

Principality Cardiff Half Marathon 2024 · 6 October 2024 ·
Hi all
For years I have been saying to myself I want to put myself out of my comfort zone and run the Cardiff half marathon in memory of mother who died from Ovarian cancer back in 2013.
I am now turning 50 in a couple of months and thought it’s now or never and want something ticked off my bucket list and to obviously raise money for a fantastic charity which is very close to my heart.
A lady called Bronwen, from Marie Curie helped me navigate through one of the darkest weekends of my life. She showed me and my 2 brothers how to care for my mother during her final couple of days of life, none of which I could’ve coped with, with out her help and support.
All the money raised will help Marie Curie provide vital care and support to people living with a terminal illness, and their families at the toughest time.
£3 helps fund a meal for a patient in one of their hospices.
£26 helps help fund an hour of bereavement support by phone or webchat.
£207 helps fund nine hours of overnight nursing care in a patient's home.
Marie Curie is here for anyone with an illness they’re likely to die from, and those close to them. Whatever the illness, wherever you are, we’re with you to the end.
Please help me raise as much money as I can to say thank you to this fantastic charity and please share to spread the word of their fantastic work!
