In May this year, we said goodbye to our beautiful retired greyhound, Rosie. She brought so much love, laughter and happiness into our lives, and losing her has left a huge hole in our hearts.

Although it’s not the right time for us to welcome another greyhound into our family just yet, we wanted to find a way to give something back. That’s why we’ve started volunteering with Home Run Hounds North West, an incredible charity dedicated to finding loving homes for retired greyhounds.

I’m taking on the Goyt Valley long-distance running challenge (26.2 miles) in Rosie’s memory and to help raise funds for the amazing work this charity does. Every donation, no matter how small, will help provide care, rehabilitation and the chance of a loving home for more wonderful dogs just like Rosie.

Rosie taught us just how special these gentle, loving dogs are, and this is my way of honouring her while helping other greyhounds get the second chance they deserve.
