Hi! Last year I was diagnosed with breast cancer. Like all of us, I never thought it would happen to me. But it did. Since then, I have had chemotherapy, three surgeries and am currently receiving radiotherapy treatment. It has been a difficult and long road but, with the incredible support of my amazing family and friends I WILL beat this terrible disease. I will never be the same person I was prior to my diagnosis, but I am thankful that I have a much clearer perspective of what matters most in life, through everything I have suffered. LIVE your life, LOVE those you hold close and LAUGH in the face of adversity. STOP waiting for the "perfect time", saving things for a "special occasion" or putting things off for "another day". That day is TODAY. Right here, right now. Book the trip, make the call, just do it. That's what I will be reminding myself of when, along with my Mum and our fabulous friends I embark on a half marathon walk on Saturday 12th September in aid of Cancer Focus NI. This charity has already helped me so much with a much needed wellness retreat and critical family support. I would love to return the thanks and help others by raising as much as possible for this great charity.
