Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

We first ran the Great North Run in 2004 raising money for children with leukaemia. Twenty years on we have decided to mark the twenty year anniversary of our first (and only) half marathon by doing it all again.

We are running for the charity ‘Mind’ this year and are hoping to raise lots of money to support them in the amazing work they do.

Mind are a charity that support many different people of different ages and backgrounds in a variety of ways when they are struggling with their Mental health. It is a charity very close to our hearts.

Working with young people and with the ongoing struggles of those that were impacted by Covid we felt that this charity is one that greatly needs ongoing support and much needed funds now more than ever.

On a personal note this will mark twenty years since we last ran this amazing race and will mark the last year of Amy’s daughter’s university course at Northumbria University in Newcastle. Newcastle is a fantastic city which has been like a second home for the past four years so it will be an incredible end to this period of our lives.

We would be so grateful for any support in enabling us to hit our £700 target. If you love us give generously and if you don’t like us still sponsor us as we will post a picture of our broken selves on completion of the race that I’m sure will be worth every penny of your donation!
