Story
On the 8th August 2023, Angus Benjamin Rowley was born, he was 24 weeks old and extremely premature. He was brought into this world by a sudden and unexpected complication of my wife's pregnancy. Unfortunately, Lisa developed Hellp Syndrome which is a life threatening and extremely rare variant of preeclampsia. Our Angus was in NICU for a total of 7 days where he was supported by the spectacular consultants, doctors and nurses at Wishaw University Hospital. Sadly, he passed away on the 14th of August 2023 surrounded by us and his grandparents.
'Team Angus' which is comprised of myself, my brother Mike, my sister in law Simone and my cousin Alex will be taking part in the Half Ironman 70.3 Swansea in the summer 2024. For those of you who know me, this will be a massive undertaking as 3 months ago my idea of exercise was spending 30 minutes in the gym twice per week (on a good week). Since October 2023, I have been following a training plan and will be completing my first Triathlon in Abu Dhabi on the 24th of February 2024 in preparation for the summer.
We will be raising money for Action on Preeclampsia to raise awareness, help to improve care and provide support to mums, families and healthcare professionals.
Any donation big or small is greatly appreciated!
All the love,
Team Angus
