Story
As someone who has recently spent 18 months battling cancer, I understand all too well the overwhelming impact a cancer diagnosis can have. Even more heart-breaking is the loss of a child to cancer, a pain I know deeply after losing my brother at just 9 years old.
That is why I am taking on a challenge (its been a while!) by participating in the "Walk for Albie 2026" on 10 May 2026. This walk supports The Albie Sugden Foundation, an incredible charity dedicated to funding research for kinder and more effective treatments for young people diagnosed with brain tumours. Brain tumours tragically claim more lives under the age of 40 than any other cancer, yet receive only 2% of national cancer research funding.
Cancer treatment for children is often aggressive and painful, with side effects that can change lives forever. The Albie Sugden Foundation not only funds vital research but also works tirelessly to improve the hospital experience by providing toys, equipment, and special experiences to children undergoing treatment.
I am aiming to raise £150 (I hope even more) to support this cause and would be deeply grateful for your help. Every donation brings us closer to better treatments and brighter futures for these brave young patients. Please join me in making a difference by supporting my fundraising journey for "Walk for Albie".
Thank you so much for your kindness and generosity.
