Story

As some of you may or may not know, back in October 2024, I spent a week in hospital and was diagnosed with SCAD (Spontaneous Coronary Artery Dissection), which is an uncommon heart condition that cannot be predicted or prevented and affects people with few, or none of the usual risk factors of heart disease.

This was an extremely scary time for myself, Jon and Ruby, but thankfully, my recovery is so far, going really well.

As part of my cardiac rehabilitation and ongoing recovery, I have decided to push myself and take up the RAFA V50 challenge, to both raise money for The RAF Association and to help me gain some confidence back in my body and my physical abilities.

As a Squadron, the staff and cadets will be taking part in RAFA: V50 2025, where we come together to make a difference through our personal 50 miles in 7 days, as our Squardon takes on our 5th year of this challenge!

Since its inception in 2020, this remarkable challenge has united over 2000 participants, raising an incredible £120,000 for the RAF Association.

As we lace up our shoes and prepare for this week-long adventure, let’s remember why we are doing this. The RAF Association provides vital support to those who have served and continue to serve our country. Your participation helps ensure that they receive the assistance they deserve.

As a Squadron, we are aiming to raise £1,500 for this cause—every donation counts and brings us closer to our goal! Together, let’s inspire each other and show our commitment by walking for those who have walked before us. Thank you for supporting #TeamRAFA.
