Story
Years ago I was just a couch potato. My husband Stephen kept encouraging me to give running a try, and although it didn’t happen overnight, his passion for it slowly rubbed off on me.
Now we run side by side, and this will be our third half marathon together, after Rio de Janeiro and the Pyramids of Egypt.
Coming from Brazil to Newcastle for the Great North Run makes this much more than just a race. Being able to raise money for a good cause is our way of giving something back to a place that’s shown me so much kindness, while also bringing Stephen back to his Geordie roots after years away.
We’re raising money for Newcastle Hospitals Charity, with donations supporting the Great North Children’s Hospital, that cares for children with everything from serious illnesses to complex, life-changing conditions, including cancer, and supports families through some of their toughest moments.
The charity helps fund vital equipment, research, and initiatives that make a real difference to young patients and their experience in hospital.
Any donation, big or small, really means a lot 🤍
