My Son Alex is 9 years old and is in year 4 at the fabulous Lisburne School in Stockport. Alex is also non-verbal and autistic and needs lots of help with communication.

Alex’s school enables children with a huge range of complex needs to achieve incredible things.

Lisburne school are in the process of constructing a new school. However, recently vandals have set fire to a large proportion of the new structure and the work has been set back by over 7 months.

Additionally, when the new building is eventually finished, it will need furnishing with specialist equipment, playground equipment and a new minibus.

I want to help the brilliant staff at Lisburne to continue to do what they do. I decided I would try to complete a huge swim. 10K or 400 lengths of a 25m pool is the equivalent of a swimming marathon. So, on the 23rd May I will attempt to get this far!
