Walking the Dales Way · 19 May 2026

We’re Mind, the mental health charity, working across England & Wales. We believe no one should face a mental health problem alone. We’re here for you. Whether you’re stressed, depressed or in crisis. We’ll listen, give support & advice, & fight your corner. Thanks for fundraising for national Mind.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I’ve been set a challenge… and this one feels very personal.

My sister (who I adore, even when she pushes me out of my comfort zone!) has challenged me to walk the Dales Way with her. For her, as a seasoned walker, this will be an adventure. For me, it’s something much bigger.

A few years ago I would have said yes without hesitation — walking has always been part of who I am. But the past three years have looked very different. Living with worsening fibromyalgia, alongside mental health and hormonal struggles, has changed what my body can do and how far I can go. Some days even short distances feel like a mountain. That’s why completing the Dales Way will be a real challenge, both physically and emotionally.

I’ve chosen to turn this journey into something meaningful by raising awareness and funds for Mind, the mental health charity. Mental health matters deeply to me, not only because of my own experiences, but also in memory of two incredible friends we have lost — Sarah and Jane. Their stories, their kindness, and their impact on those around them will always stay with me, and I want every step of this walk to honour them.

This walk isn’t about speed or perfection. It’s about resilience, healing, and showing that even when life changes your path, you can still move forward — one step at a time.

If you’re able to support me, whether through a donation or by sharing this page, it would mean more than I can say. Every contribution helps Mind continue their vital work supporting people who are struggling and reminding them that they are not alone.

Thank you for being part of this journey with me.
