Story
I’m raising money for PoTS UK and taking on the Great Manchester Half Marathon in 2026 for a cause that is incredibly close to my me. I live with Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (PoTS), a condition that affects the autonomic nervous system and causes symptoms such as dizziness, fatigue, rapid heart rate and fainting when standing along with so many other debilitating symptoms. I’ve been dealing with these challenges since 2020, but only received an official diagnosis in early 2024. A long and often frustrating journey that many people with PoTS experience.
Living with PoTS has completely changed how I experience the world. Things others take for granted, like standing for long periods or getting through a normal day without exhaustion, can be incredibly difficult. Choosing to run this half marathon is deeply personal to me, as it represents pushing back against a condition that can be so limiting and isolating.
By fundraising for PoTS UK, I hope to raise awareness of a condition that is still widely overlooked and misunderstood, while supporting the vital work they do for patients and families. With your support, I want to show that even with a long-term condition, determination, understanding, and community can make a powerful difference 💜💜💜
