Story
In 2026, I’ll be running the London Marathon — the biggest challenge I’ve ever taken on. As part of my training, I’m also running a half marathon this October to get me ready for the big day.
I’m running for Lymphoma Action, a cause that’s become deeply personal to me this year. Earlier in 2025, my best friend Holly was diagnosed with stage 4 Hodgkin lymphoma at just 26 years old.
2025 should’ve been one of the best years of Holly’s life, with her wedding planned (and everything that comes along with that) but unfortunately life had other plans.
Lymphoma is often difficult to detect, which meant Holly faced months of doctor visits and tests before finally getting her diagnosis, at which point the cancer had spread to her lungs and spleen.
Cancer doesn’t just impact your health — it turns every part of your life on its head. Holly’s treatment plan is aggressive chemotherapy, and she’s meeting it with incredible courage, despite the huge physical, emotional, and life-altering challenges it brings.
Before Holly’s diagnosis, I didn’t even know what lymphoma was — yet it’s the fifth most common cancer in the UK, and every 26 minutes someone is diagnosed. It’s more common than many people realise, especially in those aged 15–34 or over 60. That’s why I’m running — to raise both awareness and funds for Lymphoma Action, the UK’s only charity dedicated to supporting people with lymphoma.
Despite her and her family’s life being turned upside down, Holly has been nothing short of incredible throughout this year and I am so proud to be one of her best friends. If there’s one thing I’ve learned from Holly’s journey, it’s to listen to your body. If something doesn’t feel right, keep pushing for answers.
So here I am — running for Holly, running for awareness, and running for everyone affected by lymphoma. Any donation, big or small, will mean the world to me and help make a real difference.
Let’s do this 💜
