I’m trying to become the fastest woman to run a marathon…. In crocs!!!

This all started when my mate forgot her regular trainers to a pretty muddy event, and had to do it in crocs. I’m going to take that one step further, by attempting both the female-in-croc half marathon and marathon world records during October 2026.

To be honest, I only originally thought of raising for this charity because of the origins of the challenge… however after having thought about it a bit, cancer’s had quite a profound impact on my life, and practice as a medical student. I didn’t get to meet my Nana Noreen because of pancreatic cancer. My Grandad has had oral cancer. The patient that has impacted me the most was a chap with terminal bowel cancer. I met him regularly throughout last year and watching him and his family remain so positive whilst reconciling with what was happening was both heartbreaking and aspirational. I also know course mates and old school colleagues who have had cancer, far too young. I bet you can think of people who aren’t with us, or who have suffered, because of cancer too.

Cancer sucks. Please give any spare change you have, even if it’s just £1 (students I’m looking at you!!) & SHARE to make other people aware of what I’m doing, so hopefully they can donate too.
