Story
To raise funds for Blood Cancer UK, we are walking 13.5 miles on Wednesday 4th June.
It’s a long way for two sisters who usually prefer a gentle to lunch or a beer garden, but it’s for an amazing cause – and that makes every step worth it.
Every penny counts, with our fundraising efforts being matched by the Swiss Re Foundation and all funds raised directly supporting Blood Cancer UK - so please give generously!
Blood Cancer UK is a community dedicated to beating blood cancer by funding research and supporting those affected. Since 1960, they have invested over £500 million in blood cancer research, transforming treatments and saving lives. Blood cancer is the 5th most common cancer in the UK, and the 3rd biggest cancer killer. It is the most common cancer in children.
Starting from Swiss Re's London office (The Gherkin), together we will trek along the banks of the Thames for a 13.5 mile round trip to Battersea Park.
2025 is a big year for Blood Cancer UK, marking 65 years since this charity embarked upon its goal to beat blood cancer. We've come so far and celebrate bringing forward the day when no one will die of blood cancer or its treatments.
