Aggie’s Pastoral Workers support personnel and families of the Royal Navy, Royal Marines and Royal Fleet Auxiliary. They offer a listening ear, advice, signposting and provide practical support, social events and activities. By supporting wellbeing, they thereby enhance the Royal Navy’s capability.

Story

I'm a military spouse of significant years (coming up to 35). It has been an absolute rollercoaster of a life and now as we begin to draw away, I feel it's time for me to not only do something to challenge myself as a woman of a certain age, but also to give back to a charity that has supported and continues to support military families.

Trekking the Sahara is definitely a challenge. This year is a bit of a catalyst for me in terms of taking part as it will be the final year of my husband's service, marking the conclusion of an extraordinary life together and I felt the need to mark not only his career, but my own journey and this is the chance to set me up for a future filled with new adventures! Another reason that called me to complete the trek, is that I lost my mum in October and one place that she never got to visit, (and she'd been to a few) and desperately wanted to, was Marrakech which is where we will conclude the Trek. This one's for you, Mum!

Aggie's offers the military community a cuppa and warm chat when you need it, with staff who really understand the complicated challenges military life brings, and if I can do my part to support this, I'd be really grateful if you'd sponsor me (please!).
