In memory of Lizzie Orchard

Woodland Heritage was established in 1994, by two cabinet makers keen to ‘put something back’. We support resilient management of woodlands, development of the timber supply chain, dissemination of knowledge & skills and the tackling of threats to the future supply of high-quality UK timber.

Story

We, the Orchard Family, are raising funds in memory of Lizzie to help Woodland Heritage to protect British woodlands for future generations.

Learning, trees and the environment were so important to Lizzie. We would therefore love you to join us in supporting this unique charity to create Lizzie’s Learning Legacy.

Your donation will support the work of Woodland Heritage in a number of ways. For example:

£30 would give a new learning pack to someone who grows trees or uses wood at a knowledge exchange event.

£50 would enable a staff member to run a short tour of a productive woodland. Guests can see the woodland bathed in light, appreciate the biodiversity, and learn what amazing furniture and buildings are made from different tree species. Seeing is believing!

£100 could help with the practical management of woodland in the Midlands or South West, from replacing a young tree that hasn’t made it through cold, drought or disease, to pruning older trees to improve their future quality and health.

£500 would fund a grant for a young forester or maker, who wants to take their career to the next level.
