Clare, Emma and Lizzie's Camel Challenge!

Lizzie Whitford is raising money for Bodmin Railway

24 mile 'Camel' Pump Truck ride! · 5 September 2025

Our aim is to recreate the days of the rural branch line railway for everyone who visits us to enjoy. We restore and preserve, display and operate our heritage collection as a living museum for the education and benefit of all, both now and in the future. We're keeping Cornish Steam alive.

Story

On September 5th, 2025, our all-female Commercial Team — Clare, Emma, and Lizzie — along with a brave driver (aka the one in charge of the brakes!), will be taking on a wildly fun challenge: a sponsored Camel hand-propelled cart ride!

They'll be zooming (well, maybe crawling!) back and forth on 16 round trips to Walker Lines and back, covering 24 miles — the same distance as an epic All-Line journey!

All the funds raised will go straight into making the commercial side of our business even better — think shiny new tables and chairs in the Exhibition Coach, and a revamp at Boscarne Junction for everyone to enjoy!

Come join us for a fantastic day of fun and support! Let’s get behind the ladies and their driver(s) — cheer them on, soak up the awesome atmosphere, and help us spread the word about sponsorship. Our station will be open with food and drinks available. Bring your energy, your friends, and let’s make some noise for the team!

Let’s cheer them on and help make a real difference — one (very wobbly) cart ride at a time!

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
