London Marathon 2024 · 21 April 2024 ·

Sue Ryder is here to make sure everyone approaching the end of their life or living with grief can get the support they need. There is no one size fits all when it comes to how we cope and the help we need, but with our support, no one has to face dying or grief alone. We are there when it matters.

Story

Lizzie lost her Uncle Steve in 2011 after a long illness, during which he was supported by the incredible Sue Ryder and the Duchess of Kent Hospice Team

Although she was only 13 years old, the memories of the amazing kindness the Sue Ryder team showed towards him, her & her family is something that has remained with her ever since.

Sue Ryder supports people through the most difficult times of their lives. Whether that’s a terminal illness, the loss of a loved one or a neurological condition – they’re there when it matters. Their doctors, nurses and carers give people the compassion and expert care they need to help them live the best life they possibly can.

Nobody should have to lose a loved one so young however our hope, by raising money for Sue Ryder through running the 2024 London Marathon is that families, just like Lizzie’s, get the support they need in one of the hardest times anyone could imagine.
