In June 2024, I will be taking on The Wall 70-mile challenge. I must complete 70 miles in 24 hours from Carlisle to Gateshead over some mountainous terrain!

This year I am dedicating this race to my dear friend Carolyn and in memory of her son, Luke, who was brutally murdered in October 2022. Luke was at Manchester Metropolitan University, when he was attacked and suffered fatal stab wounds as he returned home from a party in the early hours.

Carolyn has lost a much-loved son and Luke's brothers have lost their sibling. No family should ever have to experience this kind of grief.

Knife crime is on the increase every year and I, like many other families fear for our children as they grow up and navigate this precarious world. Police recorded 50,833 offences involving a knife or sharp instrument year ended June 2023. Its horrifying. That is 139 a DAY.

Nearly every week we hear horror stories of young children being stabbed.

I am raising money in Luke's memory for Lives Not Knives. A knife crime charity that are dedicated to preventing youth violence in London and aim to do so through offering tailored mentorship and advice to the young people aged 9-21 in our community who most need our support.

It would of been Luke's 21st birthday this year. I cannot imagine the pain and grief his family have been through, but please help me raise money in his memory and do our bit in supporting knife crime charities who make a difference.
