Raising £1500 for The Orchard Project Challenge: Jurassic Coast Ultra – 100km in 2 Days
Hello friends,
This year marks 10 years of working in the world of orchards — harvesting apples that would otherwise go to waste, planting new community growing spaces, restoring neglected ones, and helping people take purposeful action, reconnect with nature, and each other.
To celebrate this journey — and take it further — I’m taking on the Jurassic Coast Ultra: 100km over two days. It’s going to be an adventure – wild, joyful and tough. And I’m doing it to raise £1500 for The Orchard Project, an incredible charity that believes in nurturing both community and planet — through the beautiful vessel of orchards.
Why Orchards?
Because they’re more than just trees.
They are spaces of peace and possibility. Places where we can slow down, reconnect, and grow — together.
They are havens for wildlife — and for ourselves.
The Orchard Project uses orchards to create fruitful sanctuaries in our cities that act as community hubs, where people share ideas, learn new skills, grow nutritious food, nurture their wellbeing and build meaningful relationships.
Why Now?
At a time when life feels frantic and disconnected... When the challenge of building a healthier, more regenerative world feels too big to hold...
Community orchards offer small, powerful moments of stillness, growth connection, and purpose.
Over the past decade, I’ve witnessed the quiet magic that happens when people come together in this way.
So for me, this isn't just about planting trees — its about planting hope.
Its about empowering communities to grow & care for themselves, each other and world around them.
To rebel — gently. To create the world we wish to see.
The Challenge
100km. 2 days. 2,300m climb. Walk, jog, run, dance — however it happens, my goal is to embrace the journey and enjoy the adventure!
I wasn’t always a runner. In fact, I never understood it — what was this thing people did?
Then life shifted in 2020. I found solace in nature. In movement. In running. I started with Couch to 5K. Slowly, gently, something bloomed.
And what I’ve realised — and what this whole project echoes — is that wild change is made up of small, consistent steps.
Whether it’s in running, in our lives, or in the world — the little things do add up.
This challenge is a celebration – and a call to action.
If you believe, like I do, that a better, brighter world starts with simple, meaningful actions – like planting a tree or sharing an apple – please consider donating.
You are wonder, big heartfelt thank you
