Story
This May, Jonny is taking on the '50 miles in May Challenge' to raise valuable funds for Action Cancer.
In February I stepped onto an Action Cancer bus because my sister-in-law Natasha had organised it through her work and there were a few spaces going.
And here we are with a breast cancer diagnosis!
That one appointment, one I almost didn’t take has changed everything.
It’s early days and its hard to put into words how grateful we are that the service was there. Available at the right moment, even when I didn’t realise I needed it.
That’s why Jonny is doing this.
Every mile is a way of saying thank you and a way of helping make sure more people get that same opportunity.
If you feel able to give, we would be so grateful.

Action Cancer — Northern Ireland’s leading local cancer charity — is been dedicated to supporting people across the country who are at risk of, or impacted by, a cancer diagnosis. Founded in 1973 by Dr George Edelstyn, the charity has continued to grow and evolve as the demand for its cancer prevention, detection, and support services has increased over the last five decades.
Our mission is simple: to save lives and support local people affected by cancer. All of Action Cancer’s services are free to those who need them but cost the charity £4 million every year to deliver. These services include our life-saving early detection breast screening clinic, skin cancer screening clinic, therapeutic support for individuals and families living with a cancer diagnosis, and a wide range of health improvement programmes.
By supporting this fundraiser, you are helping Action Cancer continue this vital work and ensure these services remain free for people across Northern Ireland.
