Story
Following Mum’s initial diagnosis of Muscular Dystrophy, a muscle wasting disease that leads to severe mobility issues, we have completed numerous races and events to raise money for MDUK, a charity that is close to our hearts. We cannot thank you all enough for your support so far! But its time for another challenge and on Sunday 6th April 2025, Alex, Charlotte, Tom and Matthew along with our amazing friend Tom Harrison will line up on the London Landmarks Half Marathon start line hoping to raise as much money as possible for the charity! We can’t thank Tom Harrison enough for joining us and his continued support and for Tom and Matthew for taking on a new challenge with their first half marathon.
Mum has finally been diagnosed with a rare form of MD, called VCP, that affects just 42 people in the whole of the UK. It can also affect her heart and bone density and unfortunately there is a 50:50 chance that us 4 children have inherited it. Currently, there is no cure for muscular dystrophy but with the money raised, we will be able to help with funding to support extra research in finding a cure for MD. Muscular Dystrophy UK can also use the money raised towards providing care and resources to allow people, like Mum, to adapt their lives to live their life to the full.
We are all extremely grateful for any donations and your support. Thank you!
