Story

🏃🏼‍♀️ I’m taking on a huge challenge… and this one means more than you could imagine. ❤️

In April 2027, I’ll be taking on the 10th Anniversary London Landmarks Half Marathon to raise money for The Police Children’s Fund.

Running 13.1 miles is going to be a HUGE challenge for me — but knowing exactly who I’m running for will keep me going when it gets tough.

The Police Children’s Fund is an incredible charity that supports children of police officers who have died, helping families through some of the most difficult circumstances imaginable.

And for my family, this charity isn’t just a name. It’s personal.

Since December 2018, following the tragic and unexpected death of their dad, my husband Jamie, they have supported my two boys, Freddie and Stanley.

They have supported them both financially and emotionally, and over the years that support has taken so many different forms.

They have funded play therapy for both Freddie and Stanley, giving them professional support to help them process and cope with losing their dad at such young ages.

They have also helped with so many of the everyday things that make a huge difference to children growing up without a parent — including school uniforms, Freddie’s annual football fees, and Beavers and Cubs for the boys.

These might sound like small things, but they aren’t.

They have given my boys opportunities, experiences and support that I may not always have been able to provide on my own, while also helping them emotionally through something no child should ever have to face.

Freddie is now 13 and Stanley is 10, and The Police Children’s Fund has been there for them throughout so much of their childhood. ❤️

So in April, I’ll be putting one foot in front of the other for Freddie and Stanley, and for every police family who has had to face the unimaginable.

13.1 miles might feel like a long way… but it’s nothing compared to the journey these children and families have had to face.

This is my way of saying thank you to a charity that has given so much to my boys.

If you’re able to sponsor me, every single donation, no matter how big or small, will mean so much. It will help The Police Children’s Fund continue providing the financial and emotional support that can make such a huge difference to children who have lost a police officer parent.

❤️ Please help me give something back to the charity that has been there for my boys for almost 8 years.

I’ll be sharing the training, the highs, the lows, the sweaty runs and, undoubtedly, a fair amount of complaining along the way! 😂🏃🏼‍♀️

13.1 miles. One incredible charity. One very personal reason. ❤️
