Story
SAKA is a charity very close to my heart.
In 2020 my wife received a kidney donation from her sister. Before that, she was incredibly ill. Kidney donation transformed my wife over night. It turned my wife from someone who couldn't climb the stairs unaided to someone who had their life restored.
Years later, SAKA have been there to support my wife and our family on a journey of discovery, friendship and being ambassadors for live kidney donation through her participation in the British Transplant Games, competing in a sport she loves and being in a huge community who have all gone/are going through the process of organ transplantation.
There are many Kidney charities out there. Resourcing, researching, pioneering, advocating, all to raise awareness of the blessing that kidney donation is. SAKA, is our local charity. Sheffield Area Kidney Association. Present at Northern General and one, which has very kindly supported my family in our time of need and supports hundreds of families in the care and support they need.
This walk is for them. For my wife. For my children and to raise awareness of the importance of organ donation.
Thank you for your donation, it will all make a difference locally.
