Story
Sadly my Mum passed away in January last year of metastatic breast cancer, first diagnosed 21 years ago at the age of 39. After a couple of years of treatment, she was told that although not cleared, she could carry on with prescribed tablets for the rest of her life. Unfortunately, this lasted until shortly after her 60th birthday when treatment was no longer an option due to the progression.
Cancer affects countless lives without warning, and while some are fortunate to overcome it, far too many, like my Mum, are taken too soon.
Last year was a 50km walk with friends, this year it’s the London Marathon alone, pushing me out of my comfort zone, to honour those we’ve lost, celebrate those who’ve survived, and support those still fighting.
