Local Vocals is a Community Choir based in the city of Derby, UK. We sing upbeat and positive rock and pop and aim to promote the physical, mental and social benefits of singing when rehearsing and performing. The choir started in 2019 and is made up of residents from in and around Derby, most of which hadn't done anything like this before they joined!

Our annual fundraising event for 2023, 'Climb Every Mountain', is to raise awareness of and funding for Across the Nations and in particular the Climbing for Good project helping young people in Kurdish Iraq. On Sunday 11th June a group of us will be climbing Thorpe Cloud in the Peak District and singing some songs from our repertoire on the summit together!! We're also anticipating that fellow walkers will join in!

We believe that everyone can find an activity that is good for their health and wellbeing and that brings a measure of healing. For us, it's singing, for the young people of Kurdish Iraq, it might be scaling a rock face. Please join us in supporting this cause.
