Story

On July 14th some of the Loch Ness Crew and Friends and Family are going to attempt to Ride 200k in a day in celebration of this years 200th Anniversary of the founding of the RNLI.

Starting and finishing from the Loch Ness Hub in our beautiful village of Drumnadrochit the route will take the team out via Cannich to Beauly and on to call in on our colleagues at North Kessock RNLI for general encouragement, tea and biscuits!

From North Kessock the team will head across to Fortrose and Rosemarkie and up to Cromarty where they will catch the ferry across to Nigg.

From Nig they head over to the A9 and head back towards home via another tea and biscuit stop with our friends at Invergordon RNLI Station. From there is a final push home via Dingwall, Beauly, Cannich and finally a well earned beer outside the Fiddlers Inn back in Drum.

Loch Ness lifeboat station is crewed by volunteers, who provide a 24 hour search and rescue service. We rely on the support of our local communities to power our lifesaving service. Your support will help the running of lifeboat stations like Loch Ness and, ultimately, help to save lives.

If you spot us out on the day and want to cycle and keep us company and motivated you are welcome to ride along for any stage we just ask that you make sure you are taking all the right precautions, have a well serviced and safe bike and wear the right safety kit including a helmet.
