Story
Hi, I'm Steve Hedger.
I'm currently project managing the refurbishment of The Lodge at Yeldall Manor, our resettlement house for men in recovery and completing the main Yeldall Manor programme.
I need your help.
Essential building work and repairs have meant that we've had to completely refurbish the ground floor. This gives us a wonderful opportunity to renew the five bedrooms completely — creating comfortable, welcoming spaces where the men can feel safe, valued and at home.
I know personally how much Yeldall can change a life.
In 1998, I was a resident here myself. Twenty-eight years later, I am living a full and happy life. I strongly believe that one of the things Yeldall gave me was a foundation to begin restoring my self-worth and to set my life on a pathway of recovery.
That's why I believe the environment we provide for our residents matters so much.
The way you are treated can change the way you feel about yourself.
A good bed. Fresh bedding. A proper wardrobe. A desk. A comfortable chair. A bedside table. A mirror. A lamp.
These might seem like small things, but together they say something very important:
You matter.
You are worth looking after.
You have a place here.
We want to create five bedrooms that say exactly that.
Can you help furnish a room?
You can choose to fund one item or help us towards a complete bedroom:
£70 — Bedding set -13 sets needed (includes all rooms in the lodge)
£50 — Mirror - 5 needed
£50 — Lamp - 5 needed
£150 — Bedside table - 5 needed
£120 — Chair - 5 needed
£150 — Desk with drawers - 5 needed
£350 — Wardrobe with drawers - 5 needed
£400 — Single bed, mattress & under-bed storage - 5 needed
£1,340 pays for a whole room - 5 needed
Every contribution will help create a room that makes someone feel they matter.
Our aim is to completely furnish all five bedrooms, creating spaces that are comfortable, practical and dignified — spaces that feel like home.
Can you help us give these five rooms a fresh start?
Thank you for helping us create spaces that tell people they matter. If additional money is raised then this will go towards similar items for the Main House as well, and for refurbishment and decorating of the rooms.
