Story
In September last year I lost one of my biggest supporters, my Grannie Annie. Annie always encouraged and pushed me to achieve things I thought not possible, to be the best possible person I can be and to always take ‘just one more step forward’ and on the 4th of August, I will be doing just that. She was my biggest supporter.
In honour of Grannie Annie I will be raising money for @myelomaaustralia. Multiple Myeloma is a type of cancer where malignant plasma cells accumulate in the bone marrow - the soft, spongy tissue at the centre of a bone. These cells take over the healthy cells in our bone marrow which help to fight infection. Currently, there is no cure for this horrific disease.
I will be participating in Birdys Backyard Ultra. An event in Lake Towerinning. Running a 6.71km loop of the lake, on the hour, every hour. Until I physically can’t make the hour cut off. Goals are not something I am setting for this challenge due to not knowing what my limits are. Similar to living with myeloma; this disease is not curable, only manageable and Annie had to deal with pushing through every challenge as it arose, mental and physical. One thing is for certain, Annie would never tell me to stop and I sure as hell won’t be going down without a fight, just like her… (is 24hrs too much… 161kms 🤪).
I would love your support in raising as much money and awareness for this cause as possible. 100% of proceeds will go directly to Myeloma Australia. To support, educate, inform, empower and bring hope to people who are living with myeloma and their loved ones. Additionally, to support specialist clinicians and researchers for further research into this disease. Please see the donation link below. Please help me, lets be the difference, lets close the gap and lets do it #forgrannieannie
Love always, Logan ❤️
