Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page! I will be taking on one of the biggest challenges of my life - running the 2026 London Marathon, to support the work of the MS Society, a cause which has become incredibly personal to my closest friends and me.
Last year, one of my closest friends, Tesni, was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis (MS). MS is an unpredictable condition that affects your brain and spinal cord. In MS, the coating that protects your nerves (myelin) is damaged. This causes a range of symptoms like blurred vision and problems with how we move, think and feel.
More than 150,000 people in the UK have MS. Once diagnosed, MS stays with you for life, but treatments and specialists can help you to manage the condition and its symptoms.
The MS Society is here to help everyone live well with MS.
Every year they reach thousands of people with help and support through their MS Helpline and local groups. They campaign on the issues that matter most to the MS community and they invest in ground-breaking research to stop MS in its tracks.
Tesni has kindly written the below statement to share her journey so far and how this has impacted her life.
”When I first heard the diagnosis, I was shocked. I've always been fit, active, and healthy - so being told I had an incurable neurological condition was something I never imagined could happen to me. It was a lot to process, and I imagined all the things I'd lose - my independence, my health and my active lifestyle. It can be frightening not knowing what the future might hold.
However, through extensive research and a deeper understanding of the condition, I realised that my journey was far from over. Once I had fully recovered from my most recent relapse and commenced treatment, my perspective changed completely. My active lifestyle has been fully restored, and I returned to the activities I love particularly exercising and MS has not hindered my life in any way. This transformation in my lifestyle and mindset is largely due to the effective treatment I receive and the invaluable knowledge and support provided by the MS Society.
Please consider sponsoring Lois as she undertakes this challenging run. Your donation will help fund life-changing research and essential support services for people, like me, living with MS. It will make a difference.”
Every mile I run is for Tesni, and for everyone living with MS.
Please help me support the MS Society’s incredible work in continuing to fund research and providing support to those living with MS. Every donation, no matter how small, truly makes a difference.
Together, we are strong enough to stop MS.
I’ve honestly enjoyed every moment of spreading awareness and raising funds for the MS Society — it’s become something incredibly close to my heart. So much so, that I’ve decided not to stop here. I’ve officially signed up for the Cardiff Half Marathon on the 4th of October to continue raising even more funds and to keep supporting the amazing work of the MS Society.
Please feel free to follow along with my training journey and keep an eye out for my future fundraising plans🧡
