A hike with a backpack containing the weight symbolizing an oxygen tank
On April 12th just gone, myself and others completed a 10 mile walk carrying the weight of a mobility Oxygen tank on behalf of my dad who sadly passed away on 31st January 2025 due to this devastating disease - he was an absolute warrior, as are all people dealing with PF and who have sadly passed away from Pulmonary Fibrosis. 🩷🫁
As my Dad loved a good pub the walk started at the Plume Of Feathers in Barlaston and finished at the Red Lion in Checkley which was his favourite pub
We absolutely smashed it and with everyone’s kind and incredible donations we went over target! 💜🥹 Thank you so much to everyone who came and I could not be anymore proud - we have raised a huge amount of money which will help with support and valuable research which will help people for the future suffering from this disease.
Pulmonary fibrosis (PF) is a condition in which the lungs become scarred and breathing becomes increasingly difficult.
Action for Pulmonary Fibrosis (APF) is a growing community of patients, families, researchers and healthcare professionals striving to find a cure for pulmonary fibrosis so that everyone affected by the disease has a better future. We provide personalised support to patient and families - and raise awareness of pulmonary fibrosis through campaigning, fundraising and education. We are also committed to funding research to improve the quality of life for people living with pulmonary fibrosis today and tomorrow.
